马拉糕 Steamed Malay Cake




Steamed Malay Cake. 马拉糕。
I steamed this afternoon, 
I like the texture, not dry and taste good.
Tomorrow breakfast will have this with a cup of coffee or tea. 
Weather  was hot now and i am lazy to bake.
Choose this steamed version cake.
Simple, easy and fast, and yet yummy.....
But the color is not that beautifully yellow,
may be of i didn't add in the yellow coloring.
But overall it is good.


Recipe from : Reviving Street Hawker 回味街边挡

Ingredients :

250 g           Hong Kong Flour,
60 g           Custard powder,
2 tsp           Baking powder,
1/2 tsp           Baking soda,
220 g           Sugar,
6           Egg,
150 ml           Corn oil,
1/4 tsp           Essence vanila
Some yellow coloring ( i not added)

1. Sift the flour, custard powder, baking powder and baking soda, set aside.

2. Whisk egg and sugar till fluffy, add in the mix flour and mix well.

3. Rest for 30 minutes, add in oil, essence and coloring. Mix well.

4. Steam for 35 - 40 minutes over high heat.
