Ha.... recently was busy since just start my online business.
All haven set up smoothly yet.
And today i want to post this jelly cake.
This is what i made for my 3 yr boy to celebrate his birthday at school.
This kind of cake is more healthy and not messy for kids.
And also cooling in this hot hot weather.
My boy was so excited when he saw this cake.
The decoration was a bit plain.
Cant find any kiwi and strawberry so just simply decorate with canned longan and peach.
The recipe :
Original Chiffon cake recipe
Ingredients : ( A)
5 pcs egg yolk 蛋黄70 g caster sugar 幼糖
150 g self-raising flour 自发面粉 /
1/4 tsp baking soda 苏打粉
75 g / 5 tbsp corn oil 粟米油
75g / 5 tbsp water 水
1/2 tsp vanila 香草精
材料(B):
5 pcs egg white 蛋白
1/2 tsp tartar powder 塔塔粉
70 g castor sugar 幼糖
Methods :
1.) Mix(A)ingredients until well combine.
2.)Beat ingredients ( B ) until stiff peak.
3.)Scoop 1/3 of the egg white and mix into the egg yolk batter. combine well.

4.)Continue with step ( 3 ) until finish.
5.)Pour the batter into a bottom removable 9” square tin.
6.)Bake at pre-heat oven 160°C - 180°C for 40 - 45mins or until cooked.
7.)Let it cool before unmould from the cake pan.
Agar - agar layer :
White and green layer ingredients :
Swallow globe brand agar-agar ..... 2 pack
Thick coconut milk ..... 200 ml
Water ..... 1600 ml
Sugar ..... 180 g
Pandan paste ..... 1/2 tsp
Pandan leave ..... 4 pcs (knotted)
Methods :
Put all the ingredients into a saucepan, boiled until sugar and agar-agar powder dissolved. Remove from heat.
Longan layer ingredients :
Swallow globe brand agar-agar ..... 2 pack
Longan water + Water ..... 1800 ml
Sugar ..... 180 g
Canned Longan
Canned Peach
Methods :
Put water, sugar and agar-agar powder in a small pot, cooked until all dissolved. Remove from heat.
Combination :
1. I put my cake pan in the fridge before making. Place the sponge cake into a 10" square pan.
2. Slowly pour in the white pandan agar-agar into no. ( 1 ). I put a smaller square pan on top of the cake and press slowly so that the cake will not float up. Let the cake and jelly set.
3. When this is done, I add in some pandan paste in the leave agar-agar mixture. Cook for a while. Pour in the pandan agar-agar onto the white layer and let to cool.
3. Then for the clear layer, i pour in 1/3 agar-agar mixture onto the green layer. When this layer is set, decorate with the canned fruits you like. Very slowly pour in the rest of the agar-agar mixture and let to cool.
## The fruits in can have the syrup coating, i wash it with water before decorate.
## And when you pour in the last step, you have to very slowly, if not your decoration will be running out of your shape.
4. Keep in the fridge for few hours before serve.
