烧卖 Shao Mai (Meat Dumpling)



Today when i am going to the wet market, i saw some fresh small prawns.  
Buy some and making this shao mai for my kids.
They like to eat this at Restaurant. 
So i made these and keep freeze, so when they want to eat,
 i just unfreeze and steam for them.


Actually i seldom buy this small prawns, u know lah....
got so much to to to remove shelled. 
When i was younger my parents are food hawkers and 
almost everyday i have to do this job "remove small prawns shell". 
E...... so i am afraid of this. ha..... 
 Its been a long time didn't buy this small prawns.


Recipe adapted from : Hearty Breakfast Treats

Ingredients :
A

30 pcs ..... wan ton skin

B ( Fillings ) :

400 g ..... minced meat with some fatty meat
100 g ..... minced prawn
4 ..... water chestnut (chopped)
salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp ..... sesame oil
1 tbsp ..... corn flour
1 ..... egg white

Methods :

1.     Mix filling evenly. Wrap filling into wan ton skin.

2.     Arrange in a steamer, steam over high heat for 10 minutes. Remove and serve hot.

Note :

Trim the edges of shao mai skin after wrapping or else it will become dry and hard.
